Security Pedestrian Gate System.

This secure gated townhouse complex of 27 townhouses had three older gates that were no longer secure. One is the exit from the garage area, and the other pair are the exit and entry for the apartment block. We removed all three and replaced them with new heavy duty security pedestrian gates.

Because the gates are a fire exit, all of them open outwards. They open using the existing fob for the complex and close on a hydraulic door closer, with a single header fitted above each gate to carry the closer. Each gate is secured with an Abloy lock.

The gates are powder coated in Monument and built from 50mm aluminium vertical blades set on edge with a 60mm gap. The heavy duty pedestrian gate to the apartment block is a single gate with a fixed panel beside it rather than a pair. These gates are set back 1.2 metres from the garage gate so they can open outward without blocking the driveway. To work in with that set back, we installed a 1.2 metre matching aluminium panel on top of the brick wall to close off the area.

To keep the gates secure, we installed protection boxes around the inside handles. These stop unauthorised people reaching through the gates to open them from outside.
