The project
Stacking clear of the path.
The front of the home was open and unprotected. The owners needed fencing and an automatic sliding gate to help keep in their two dogs and grandchildren, giving the front of the property a secure boundary.
A standard Automatic Sliding Gate System would have crossed behind the pedestrian gate, which would have required a track running across the pedestrian path. Installing a Dual Telescopic Sliding Gate System allowed the full driveway width to be cleared by the gate, but because the leaves stack alongside each other, the gate stops fully open before it reaches the pedestrian gate and path.
The gate is built from an aluminium frame and aluminium vertical slats. Because the area is close to the ocean and susceptible to corrosion, we etch primed the gate before powder coating. Etch priming before powder coating provides an extra layer of protection and reduces the chance of corrosion. The driveway gate uses 50mm vertical slats, with 65mm vertical slats on the fence and pedestrian gate, all powder coated in Windspray.
Alongside the driveway gate we installed a pedestrian gate with a D-Latch and two side pedestrian gates, both of which can be locked if required. The client had a carpenter install a timber base in the garden, then we measured the fixed panels and gate to enclose the three garbage bins next to the driveway.
